Tennis dinner was yesterday, so met up with dee prior to the scheduled time to meet to hang out for awhile at central. that girl hasn't been there before. the horror. so we strolled around a lil before settling at o'brien's for a cuppa and catch up (:

the ambience was nice, portions were mammoth, but damn, the food was good. i had shredded steak chimichanga (?) im not sure how its spelt. the melted cheese was heavenly. i reckon, it was more or less mexican food. couldn't finish so shaun and ellery lent me a helpin hand. heh. had a good time just crapping and stuff with dee and pq mostly, at dinner, (apart from dee's cardigan...inside joke) haha. they were challenging the captains to take a mouth of the "xxxxxtra spicy" sauce on the table, shaun went first and my goodness he turned beetroot red. haha and had to pretend to calmly ask the waiter for another glass of water. pinquan was up next. his reaction was classic. i caught it on vid, but the vids are taking eternity to load so i'll see what i can bout them.
the juniors gave us each a card with messages from each of them inside, which was really sweet (:

dee and i decided we were gonna do the reverse bungee. short dresses or not. we were contemplating taking the ride earlier before dinner, but decided against it because of our short dresses and taking the G-Max right after dinner is akin to forcing ourselves to act like we're bulimics. But after dinner, watching people get hurled up into the air was way too enticing so we decided, what the heck. zhiwei and pinquan were up for it too, so we went ahead for it. later on, ernest sophia and faye decided to have a go on it too. i have two videos of our rides on my cam, but the files are huge, i'm trying youtube but we'll see.
i took the ride alone with dee =D didn't care if we were in short dresses and heels or not we took it anyway. haha and the stupid guy at G-Max asked us,
Guy: Do y'all want a surprise or countdown?

Me: (to dee) yeah surprise.

Dee and I: -shriek- AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
well you see, they launched it there and then. -.- hahahhaa. it was freakin exhilarating. and it was kinda cute cos dee and i held hands right before we were launched and held hands all the wayyy. hahhaaa. glad my first ride on the reverse bungee was with dee (: she kept saying she was gonna remember last night for life, taking the ride. haha (:
after that, kenny pinquan zhiwei dee and i headed to starbucks at central for awhile to get a drink while kenny whipped out his latest darling, call of duty 4. hahaha.
anyway, apart from having a slightly strained neck today (from the severe jerking on the G-Max), had a hella good time last night, thanks juniors (: and i'm gonna miss tj tennis. haha. lots. slogging it out on the courts for the past yr may have been tough but just cos we're the crappiest, lamest team ever, its all good fun. Merry Christmas everyone (:
My favourite time of the year! apart from my birthday perhaps. It's been great fun putting up the christmas tree at home and everything too. spent way too much christmas shopping this year, so feelin the pinch. heh. Got dee her xmas present while we were out together on sunday! so that was fantastic. glad she loves it (: and it was spectacular catching up with my gossip partner while we sat at coffeebean. gossip girls. HAHA. ok don't mind that.
had a great countdown! words would do it no justice.
anyway, thank you everyone for the cards and presents (:
com's a goner. so might just get a laptop, and that might take awhile, so gotta be content with using irina's com for awhile. she's being awfully sweet letting me use it. both my sisters are doing almost a play-by-play recount of our japan trip, so doubt i need to do to so. refer to my sisters' blogs for a play-by-play (:

IM BACK FROM JAPAN (:
ok i was back on monday evening, but 've been too busy getting irritated with my com conking out involuntarily. so pictures have got to wait till my com's back up and running again!
i had a fantastic trip by the way! =D
meanwhile, i caught this programme on japanese television when i was in my hotel room one night, and i absolutely adore this performance but this band kobukuro with a female solo singer ayaka. and so happens, on the flight back, the plane was playing a koburuko special so i listened to more of them (:
enjoy (: (you could skip the whole interview segment right to the performance)
I LOVE the tone of the voice of the guy with huge shades. they're fantastic acapella.

Flying off to Japan way early tomorrow morn, but shall be back in a week to update i promise (:
dee's just left for phuket and zhiwei's leaving for phuket tmr too. gonna miss them, still, despite dee announcing to the entire world on her blog,
"ida's going off too, with her expensive jacket that i bet she's going to show off by taking truckloads of photos. haha. stupid girl. you better buy smt for kwann and i cuz we walked so much to find you a jacket." -.- fineee.
anyway, i've gotten some photos ppl have sent me regarding prom, so shall post up a few more =D

i realised i didn't take enough stupid shots with huang at prom.

anyway, last friday was a good day. Went with zhiwei to look for this indian restaurant near china sq, took awhile for us to find it but i love indian food. so who cares! We took a train then bus down to kallang leisure park to explore a lil, think it could be potentially very nice but its gonna take awhile for the stores to move in still. The coffeebean there looked awfully cozy though. and i realised i haven't ice skated, ever. NOT ONCE. mmmm. anyway we hung around a lil before heading down to the cathay to catch enchanted. we braved the rain for enchanted. haha.
it was pretty corny, but in an acceptable manner i reckon. apart from the parts when she starts singing. haha mannn. passable movie i guess, the golden compass looks pretty awesome from the trailers though. Had dinner then it wasn't enough so we explored plaza sing's basement for some snacks and i had fried mars bars =D haven't had them in eons. reckon its the cause behind me being down with the flu now though -.- haha. but anyway, it was a fun day!
anyway, gotta get up at like 4am tmr morn, so shall attempt to have an earlier night. perhaps after heroes later. in a dilemma as to whether i should bring my ipod. mm.

PROM
i've gotta say, prom was so much fun this time, compared to prom in sec 4. Perhaps its the whole being 18 thing. AND i managed to convince huang to get her makeup professionally done too =D ok so she got it FOC but well least she did it. haha. we did our manicure together the day before prom too. I did a pedicure too but she didn't.
Got my hair done with my hairstylist earlier in the mornin, and it took me awhile to get used to it. Though the stylists there were all raving bout the end result. haha. mei thought it looked pretty cool too (: Then i headed down to taka with mei to get my makeup done at bobbi brown. i really loved my makeup so its good (: got some stuff from bobbi brown before heading over to wisma to meet huang to take a cab down to prom.
we were unlucky enough to get a cab driver who was NEW to his job. you should've seen the look of horror on huang and my face. he was pretty mystified by why we didn't converse with him in chinese and asked if we were chinese. huang reckons its cos i dont LOOK chinese plus she almost can't SPEAK chinese. haha. so in the end i was left to give him directions and all that since huang was all a lil blur. hahaha.
reached marina mandarin and we were greeted by some guys from the student council who gave us each roses at the entrance. pretty nice (:

Zhiwei was fashionably late, but he put his coat on and everything to give me a corsage which was sweet (: he reckons im the only girl at prom to get one, haha. it has a champagne pink rose on it! didnt know it was real. so only when it started wilting did i panick, cos i didnt take a photo of it. crap.

The whole event was not bad i've gotta admit. Didn't harbour high expectations considering i half expected the SC to screw up. But it was pretty good, emcee was not too shabby. The food was pretty bad, so i didn't have much. and Huang's right when she said it required 5 secs of staring to recognise any girl for that matter. haha. and Derrick popped over like between every course to snap a few shots. so he became my camwhoring partner. haha. A pity he didn't win best dressed though he was nominated.
After prom, bren finally managed to convince bixia and huang to go for the post prom party =D though we had a long drawn discussion. haha anyway so we all got onto the bus and headed for zouk.

Really loved the music in the club. I quote zhiwei," You know every song they've played so far right?" haha. Poor bren was suffering in her heels though, but she did well to remove them to dance barefooted sometimes. Danced with Huang Bren and Bixia most of the time which was pretty good fun (: apart from the losers who use cringe-worthy pick-up lines like "wanna socialise?" and instead of backing off, still attempts to dance with u even if u say no. Huang and the guys were a real saviour (: glad they were there. realised i've got pretty protective friends. pretty nice knowing that (:
Didn't take any pictures at zouk cos i didn't bring my camera in. Shall wait for zhiwei to send me the only ONE i took, albeit it being taken outside the club. Left the club around 3am. Reached home around 5 plus nearly 6am. Had a mere 3 hours of sleep, but i took a nap to catch up on my beauty sleep.
Prom night was pretty cool. a memorable one (: and i think this post doesn't do it justice but well, i tried. haha.
